Big in '03
Ok after that rant just a few hours ago I decided to go off on Big in '03 on VH1. While eating dinner, I watched my tape of the show.

Let me say, I have never seen such a self mastubatory award show. It was so VH1. VH1 is my guilty pleasure, I admit it. To be perfectly honest I think it went wrong by being an award show. Ok bear with me. First of all, what the fuck was the determining factors in their choices of who won? As I watched things that you'd think would win, didn't. Sometimes it just seemed like only the people in heavy rotation on VH1 won. It sort of seemed liked it was trying too hard to hit all it's demographics which just sucked. I think it would have been better off being honest.

We just like to rehash all the stuff that went on in the year and make fun of it and have some laughs. The whole award format is just old and lame and tired and didn't match really.

It just seemed lame cause it was trying to be an award show but really i believe that whole format is dead.

Ok i don't want this to be a big bitching entry. I rather it be Bitchin instead.

I liked the Nick and Jessica skit. It was funny and pretty cute.

I loved the fact that they had an award called the Big Gay Hero Award.

Just imagine, 10 years ago that award would be laughed off the stage.

My favorite clip from the show was of Korean President Kim Jong IL. I think he was grouped in with some Infamous Breakout Person.

I loved that when Nikki Hilton was presenting this award that people were yelling for her sister to be included in this category.

I wished the show had more teeth when going after people and making fun of them. I think the show would have benifited more of a Roast like atmosphere. It went a little easy on people.

I thought it was cool that the show tried to put all the reality show stars of the year on the stage. What happened to the Joe Schmo show or even Real World?

VH1 and MTV are like cousins, it seems odd they never seem to acknowledge each other that much.

And i couldn't believe how far Diddy and Ashton were, up each others asses. They make it too easy to make those Diddy-Ashton jokes. First there was Bennifer, now we have P. Ashtoniddy. I haven't seen Ashton with Demi, Bruce, and the kids together in public for awhile. I only see him with Diddy.

Oh and one more thing, enough about running that fucking Marathon for "the kids." I swear if I hear him go on and on about how great he is for doing that I'm going to hurl.

And have you ever noticed, everytime Mary J. Blidge is on, they always seem to cut away to her as if we need to have the Blidge stamp of approval. I am not sure how to describe it. They did it at this years VMA's when Britney and Christina were doing "Like a Virgin" She always seems to give these look that seem to say , "Uh, no you aren't Bitch." Or saying something like "This is Wack!"

Nothing against her, I just find those cut away scenes kind of annoying. I thought what was lame was there was a lot missing from that show. THere was so much going on this year. I thought it would have been better to focus less on lame acceptance speeches and intros and just delve greater into the things that made up the year.

There was a dixie chick appearance. I think Bill Mauerer (sp?) is the national spokesperson for her. THe only thing about that is, I don't care really what she said about the president. I think people are just as stupid for reacting to her and trying to make her some kind of liberal spokesperson. And I am tired of hearing her trying to defend herself as if she is on some great free speech movement.

There are so many posers when it comes to being icons and figureheads of our time. THat whole fame time remaining thing sort of hit it on the dot, even for the stars. There are so many stars in the world, only a few really transcend a great deal of time and remain relevant and mean something. And usually it doesn't occur to us till they're gone, or if most of our lives have passed us by.

I have to say I loved that Tracie Morgan and ( i forget her name, she used to be on Talk Soup and has been on Friends)her came out as Ben and JLo.

Hey you know I used to think the guy from Matchbox 20 was kind of ugly, but he looks a lot cuter now.

The show aside, is it me or are those cats they have dancing on their comercials to old songs, getting kind of and still kind of creepy?

Well ok... well I think I've gone on and on about nothing for long enough. That's what's been big in '03
